FUME is a soft, voluminous and versatile Italian yarn made from merino wool blended with nylon. It combines the natural warmth and softness of merino wool with improved durability and shape retention, making it a practical choice for garments and accessories designed to be worn often.
With its 60% merino wool and 40% nylon composition, FUME creates a warm and comfortable knitted fabric while offering greater resistance to wear and deformation than pure wool.
With 200 m per 100 g, FUME is a beautifully balanced medium-weight yarn. It knits up relatively quickly, creates well-defined stitches and works beautifully with both simple textures and more structured patterns.
The multicolour shades are particularly expressive: soft transitions and unexpected touches of colour create a unique effect as you knit, making even simple stockinette stitch visually interesting.
What Can You Make with FUME?
FUME is a versatile yarn suitable for:
- Sweaters and pullovers
- Cardigans
- Vests
- Hats and berets
- Scarves and cowls
- Mittens
- Children's garments
- Warm knitted and crocheted accessories
It works beautifully in stockinette stitch, garter stitch, ribbing, cables, Aran patterns and other textured stitches.
For multicolour shades, simple stitches are particularly effective because they allow the colour transitions to become the main feature of the finished fabric. Solid shades are an excellent choice for cables, Aran knitting and more intricate textured patterns.
